How to use what you find
- Call or visit before you apply. Ask about start dates, waitlists, cost, financial aid and job placement. Programs change, so confirm the details with the school.
- Public colleges are usually the lowest-cost option. Community and technical colleges often cost a fraction of private schools for the same credential.
- Nursing programs: make sure the program is approved by your state board of nursing before you enroll.
- CDL training: many private truck-driving schools don’t take federal financial aid, so they may not show up here. Your state’s DMV or licensing office keeps the full list of approved CDL schools.
