Hello, my name is Lester Burkes. I am a U.S. Veteran and Workforce Development professional based in the Pacific Northwest. I created Learn Skilled Trades because I believe that success doesn’t always come from a four year degree. It comes from learning practical, in demand skills that lead to strong, stable careers.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked with students, job seekers, and employers to help people find meaningful pathways into the skilled trades. My focus is on creating opportunities for individuals to build confidence, earn industry recognized credentials, and find employment that provides real growth potential.
I’ve seen firsthand how learning a trade can change lives. Whether it’s welding, construction, diesel technology, HVAC, or electrical work, these careers offer purpose, independence, and financial security.
